Finished Sculpture Project-

This was my first sculpture assignment that I had control over. The assignment was to create something that had a concept behind it, while simultaneously being interactive. The piece needed to be made out of wood and metal, everything else was up to us. I made this ball maze with the idea that it represented a common problem, with every problem there is a solution. What makes my piece different than others you can buy in a toy store, is that mine is huge. It is 21’x15’ maze contained in a welded steel box, its really heavy. After a while of trying to get through the maze your arms will get tired, much like you would after dealing with the same problem for a while. The maze itself is finished but I still need to do some more things to it before its due. I was going to paint “Problem” in the top right of the maze and “Solution” in the bottom left. It signifies the idea behind the piece, and tells where the starting and ending points are. My class is having an art critique tomorrow, and I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to display this. Any ideas?

Well, I’m not sure exactly what makes this seem different from a myspace, or a face book. Any of the other different kinds of internet names that everyone seems to have, but here I am. Maybe its the thought that, I can post anything I want, my writing, my thoughts, my drawings, my pictures, my music, and no one is here to judge me for it. I’m 17 years old, and a senior in high school. I love all kinds of art, and consider myself a writer and creator of all things.
